Price County ATV Trail System

Travel Time from Phillips:  Access point within Phillips

The broader Price County ATV trails connect Phillips with neighboring communities and several smaller trail networks throughout the county. Riders can travel on designated trails and approved road routes that pass through forests, wetlands, and small Northwoods towns. This interconnected system makes it easy to spend an entire day riding without needing to trailer your ATV between locations.

Maps for the system are available through Price County and the Phillips Chamber of Commerce, and many local businesses cater specifically to ATV travelers with parking, fuel, lodging, and trail access.

Georgetown Trail

Travel Time from Phillips: Less than 15 minutes away

Located just west of Phillips, the Georgetown Trail is one of the closest and most popular ATV routes in the area. The trail stretches roughly 15.8 miles through the Price County Forest and features a mostly gravel surface that winds through dense forest, wetlands, and gently rolling terrain.

Riders will find parking areas at both the north and south trailheads, along with easy access to Phillips and nearby Kennan for fuel, food, and supplies. The route is considered fairly beginner-friendly, though some sections can become rough or muddy after heavy rain. Because it is an out-and-back trail, many riders use it for a relaxing half-day ride close to town.

Northwest of Phillips near Solberg Lake, the Solberg Trail offers another excellent nearby riding option with scenic forest views and multiple boardwalk crossings. The trail runs about 9.5 miles and connects directly to the larger Flambeau Trail System, allowing riders to continue exploring farther into the Northwoods.

The route travels through both Price County Forest land and the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, giving riders a mix of wooded terrain, open stretches, and access to nearby campgrounds and lake recreation areas.

Solberg Trail

Tuscobia State Trail

Travel Times from Phillips: ~30 minutes away

About 30 to 40 minutes southwest of Phillips near Park Falls, the Tuscobia State Trail is one of northern Wisconsin’s best-known multi-use recreation trails. Built along a former railroad corridor, the trail stretches for more than 70 miles across northern Wisconsin and provides a relatively smooth, easy ride compared to rougher forest trails.

ATV riders enjoy the wide trail surface, scenic river crossings, and direct access to additional connecting trail systems throughout the region. Because the route follows an old rail bed, steep climbs are minimal, making it especially popular with beginner riders and families looking for a longer but less technical ride.

The trails are known for beautiful scenery during summer and fall, especially when the forest colors begin to change. Many riders combine portions of the Flambeau system with the Solberg Trail or Tuscobia Trail to create longer loop rides that can fill an entire weekend. Trail conditions can vary depending on the weather, so checking local trail reports before riding is always recommended.
